A truck was destroyed by fire Friday evening near the Sand Bar Road and Crum Lane intersecton.
When units from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 11:40 pm dispatch, the Ram 150 sitting in the roadway was fully engulfed in flames. Units from the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department arrived a short time later and extinguished the fire.
Aiden Kieffer of Bulls Gap was driving the truck when he and Andrew Neas noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Thinking the truck was overheating, the hood was lifted and fire poured out from the rear of the engine bay.
No one was injured. The truck was valued at $5,000.
