Traffic is back to normal today on Highway 70/Lonesome Pine Trail following a single vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer around 2:20 pm Monday.
The driver of the vehicle, 55-year-old James Neal of Georgia told the THP another vehicle was in his lane, which caused him to swerve to avoid a collision. The report indicates the right rear of the trailer ran off the roadway, causing the truck to leave the road and come to rest in a field. Neal was not injured.
The semi was hauling 40,000 pounds of roll paper. The cargo had to be off-loaded, and the semi hauled away which resulted in a road closure.
The Mosheim Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
