Election Day is here and voters will go to the polls across Greene County and the rest of the state today, for the 2022 State and Federal General Elections.
Polls open at 9:00 AM and will remain open until 8:00 PM tonight. Tennesseans can vote this year, yes or no on 4 proposed amendments to the Tennessee Constitution. The Right to Work Amendment, Acting Governor Amendment, Remove Slavery as a Punishment for Crime Amendment, and Remove the Religious Minister Disqualification Amendment, will appear on ballot after Governor candidates.
Governor Bill Lee is facing challenges from Democrat Jason Martin and other Independents. For State Senate in District 9: Republican Steve Southerland is being challenged by Democrat Sara Thompson. For House of Representatives, David Hawk remains unopposed.
For U.S. House of Representatives in the 1st Congressional District, Republican Diana Harshbarger is facing challenges from Democrat Cameron Parsons and two Independent candidates.
Polls will close at 8:00 PM and Radio Greeneville will provide updates on the results throughout the evening.
