GREENEVILLE – Tiffany Greer, a Tusculum University alumna who has achieved success in the finance space for 15 years and previously served in sales, has been named Tusculum’s vice president of institutional advancement.
Greer will lead the Office of Institutional Advancement’s initiatives to raise funds for the university and have oversight of the university’s alumni relations and grant-seeking programs. Her appointment by Dr. Scott Hummel, Tusculum’s president, comes as the university is engaged in a four-year, $13.5 million fundraising campaign called Frontiers.
Dr. Hummel is confident Tusculum will meet its fundraising, alumni relations and grant goals with Greer at the helm.
“Tiffany is an outstanding professional who has made her mark in the financial realm and is ready to help us succeed further in attracting donor support,” he said. “She brings positive energy and excellent knowledge of East Tennessee to the table along with a tremendous understanding of the key role our alumni can play in driving Tusculum’s future growth. Donors, alumni and grant-awarding organizations will have a great partner in Tiffany, and we are excited about the results she will produce.”
Greer earned a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in human resource development, from Tusculum in 2015 as an adult learner with a toddler at home. She said she understood the importance of continuing her education. She has remained involved with her alma mater. She served on the Alumni Executive Board and became president of that body in the fall. Greer has frequently visited campus, sharing financial literacy, professional development and business growth advice to students through career services initiatives. These include Tusculum’s Career and Graduate School Fair, the TRIO program and the Center for Free Enterprise and New Venture Creation’s workshops, which help students and entrepreneurs in the community by connecting students with alumni and local business resources.
Since 2014, she served at First Horizon. She began her career there as assistant vice president and branch manager for six years. She maintained a leadership role in the community and led At Work Sessions for new client relationships and business growth. With effective change management as her guide, she enhanced customer service skills among employees by leading by example, coaching, motivating and empowering teammates to succeed and grow. She received the Diamond circle Award in 2019 for being among the top 5% of managers at First Horizon. Greer was promoted in 2020 to a major community relations role as senior executive administrative assistant and Community Reinvestment Act liaison for First Horizon in the Tri-Cities area. She was based in Johnson City and led all aspects of community engagement, including teaching financial literacy classes and working with local nonprofits regionally on the CRA council. She led successful regional internal United Way campaigns and collaboration among teams across seven regions. She oversaw sponsorships and team/client engagement such as Bristol Motor Speedway VIP experiences, business development opportunities and Chamber of Commerce events. She also handled public relations, marketing and social media efforts and foundation grant requests for the Tri-Cities market. From 2011-14, Greer was a home mortgage consultant for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and earned the Stagecoach Award for her strong performance during the first year. Before that, she spent four years as an account manager and project coordinator for The Greeneville Sun.
Greer is thrilled to lead the Office of Institutional Advancement and partner with stakeholders across the university to ensure Tusculum attains its financial and relationship objectives. As part of her role, she will serve as a member of the university’s Executive Cabinet, which advises the president on strategic and operational direction.
She will also guide Tusculum through the Frontiers campaign, which seeks $8 million for student scholarships, $4.5 million to further bolster the student experience and $1 million for future projects and programs. The campaign also includes funds for the Thomas J. Garland Library.

Greer was named to the 2023 class of 40 Under Forty, an award competition of The Business Journal of Tri-Cities Tennessee/Virginia that recognizes individuals younger than 40 for professional excellence and community involvement. As a former Bonner Leader, she understands the importance of community and civic engagement. She has continued to volunteer in the community in multiple leadership roles over the past decade. She is a member and current president-elect of Youth Builders of Greeneville, which promotes the welfare of children in Greene County, and has led the Volunteer Spirit Awards Committee. She was named Youth Builder of the Year for 2019-2020. Greer serves as a committee leader with Scouting America as Troop 94’s treasurer and has been a tnAchieves mentor since 2015. She is a graduate of the Greene County Partnership Adult Leadership Class for 2013-2014.
In addition to her Tusculum degree, Greer holds a bachelor’s in public relations and advertising and a minor in business administration from Carson-Newman University.
She and Ben Greer, her entrepreneur-spirited husband of almost 20 years, are raising their two children.
