A line of strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move through the forecast area late this afternoon and evening ahead of a strong cold front that will move through during the overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, damaging winds in excess of 60 mph will be the primary concern. However a tornado or two cannot be ruled out, especially west of the I-75 and I-81 corridors where storms will arrive earliest.
The high for today will be near 80, but colder temperatures are expected. Temperatures will cool significantly at higher elevations Wednesday into Thursday while showers linger until late Thursday night.
The high Wednesday will be in the mid 50’s with a low Wednesday night in the mid 30s. Temperatures will be dropping to a low around 30 throughout the weekend. As a result, expect some light snow accumulations in the mountains during this time. More details form the Meteorologist can be found here.
