The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that occurred Saturday around 7:45 pm in the 1900 block of Highway 321 in Parrottsville.

The driver of a 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta of unknown color, was involved in an accident with a bicyclist, identified as 19-year-old Trishtian Knight of South Carolina, and left the scene without stopping to render aid or provide required information. According to a report from the THP, Knight was traveling south on Highway 321 on the paved right shoulder. The suspect vehicle drove from the outside travel lane, crossed the fog line onto the right shoulder, and struck Knight’s bicycle in the rear. Knight did have a front and rear head lamp fixed to the bike, as well as front and rear reflectors.

Knight was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.

The vehicle will have right front head light and fog light damage. It was last seen traveling south on US 321 toward Newport.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, has dash camera or security camera footage, or may have seen a vehicle matching this description in the area around the time of the incident to contact Trooper Nathan Pearson at 865-895-6950 or *THP (*847). Callers may remain anonymous if they wish.
