Theft of gas was reported from Food City on Tusculum Boulevard on Wednesday afternoon.
An officer with The Greeneville Police Department responded to the Food City Gas N’ Go around 2:00 PM. The employee on duty said that a yellow Pontiac minivan with a Georgia license plate with two white males inside pumped $61 worth of gas and left without paying.
The tag on the van had apparently been switched, as the number given to police came back to a different vehicle.
