Theft from a motor vehicle was reported at Dollar General on 835 East Andrew Johnson Highway yesterday afternoon.
When officers arrived they made contact with the victim who stated that a ladder was stolen out of the back of his truck around 9 AM yesterday. He said that he was sleeping inside of his trunk when a white SUV pulled up. A male occupant of the SUV opened his door and woke him up. The man took the ladder from his vehicle and left the scene damaging his bumper.
No suspects were known at the time of the report.
