TEMA officials were in Greene County recently to meet with County Mayor Kevin Morrison and other Greene County officials to view the damage caused by the floods following Hurricane Helene.
TEMA Director Patrick Sheehan assessed both the destruction and reconstruction of the bridge. Sheehan said it’s one thing to receive reports of damages, but quite another to stand on the edge of the river and see it first hand.
Sheehan traveled with Mayor Morrison, and EMA representatives Heather Sipe and Letitia Ricker, to the Kinser Bridge, the water intake station, and Bird’s Bridge to survey the damages.
Following those sites, Sheehan met with the group at the Courthouse Annex and discussed how TEMA could help with the overcoming of obstacles and how funds can be obtained to help pay for the repairs.
