A structure fire was reported Tuesday from a resident on the 1700 block of Culbertson Road and the home was determined to be a total loss.
The Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene about 8:30 PM and spoke with the victim who said his smoke detector went off. After going toward a backroom of the mobile home he reportedly noticed flames coming from the wood stove. The victim said he attempted to put the fire out and grabbed a water hose from outside but the hose snapped in half.
According to the report, the victim grabbed buckets with water to try and contain the fire but it grew too fast. The structure was determined a total loss. Several Volunteer Fire Departments reportedly responded to the fire including Caney Branch, Saint James, Orebank, and Debusk.
