Volunteer firefighters from United , Fall Branch and Newmansville responded to a residential fire Sunday morning.
Units responding to the 2:30 am call at 885 Smith Mill Road found the structure destroyed by fire.
Firefighters cleared the scene by around 5 am but were called back to the scene around 9:30 am and again around 6 last night when the fire rekindled.
There were no apparent injuries.
A Greene County Sheriff’s Department report this morning indicates a second smaller fire about 30 yards from the home at the rear of the property which appeared to consists of trash and materials from a camper. A camper frame was lying behind the smaller fire which was still smoldering. Investigators say the scene did not appear to be arson related, but possibly a controlled burn that was not called in.
