According to the National Weather Service in Morristown, there will be strong winds across the East Tennessee Mountains this afternoon and tonight, with gusts up to 55 mph. Breezy conditions are expected with stronger gusts possible in the highest peaks.
Gusty winds are also expected across the rest of the TN Valley this afternoon with gusts from 20 to 30 mph, gusts increase to 30 to 40 mph tonight.
Warmer temperatures are anticipated for these next couple days, along with the windy conditions. Highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s both today and Thursday. Cooler temperatures will return by Friday with a high in the mid 50s.
