The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development reported this afternoon that the state’s unemployment rate was 3.5 percent in December, unchanged from the November rate.
The seasonally adjusted rate of 3.5 percent for December also matched the rate from a year ago.
In the past month, employers across the state added 1,400 new nonfarm jobs. During the last year, the number of new nonfarm jobs grew by 22,7000 across the state.
County unemployment data will be released next week.
