State Representative David Hawk announced today more than $62,000 in grants to Greene County museums and historic sites.
The Greeneville Greene County History Museum received $22,755 and Tusculum University Museums received $40,000, totaling $62,755 in grants. The funds must be used for building and land improvements, including structural changes and renovations.
The funds are part of an appropriation approved by members of the General Assembly for the Tennessee State Museum in the 2023-24 state budget. Out of 170 applications, 108 museums across 58 counties were granted a total of $5 million in full or partial awards from the State Museum.
