An incident earlier this week in which a Chuckey man was stabbed is under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy responded to the scene on Erwin Highway around 11:00 PM Tuesday. The victim was changing a tire on an unnamed friend’s car. When the victim finished, he went inside the residence on the property. As he was coming back outside, an unnamed cousin reportedly came up to the victim.
The victim thought that the cousin hit him, but the suspect was actually stabbing the victim on the left side near his rib cage. The victim had an open wound to the left side of his torso and a cut to his left arm near the elbow. The victim refused to identify the offender, only saying that they had an ongoing dispute.
The victim was transported to the Johnson City Medical Center. He was advised to contact the Sheriff’s Department if he changed his mind about cooperating with the investigation.
