The University of Tennessee Extension Center for Profitable Agriculture and the Tennessee Fruit and Vegetable Association are teaming up to host educational workshops for farmers interested in growing specialty fruit crops across the state.
A workshop will be offered in each region of the state from 10- 3 PM. On March 2, a workshop will be held at the Northeast Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center in Greeneville.
There is no cost to attend the workshop, but registration is required a minimum of one week in advance of the training. Register at Tiny.utk.edu/fruit2023. Sessions will focus on blueberries, elderberries and other specialty fruit crops. Specialists will address production practices, which includes a live pruning and plant management demonstration marketing considerations will be presented for commercial fruit producers and blueberry budgeting tools.
