The wait is finally almost over, the new Southern Craft BBQ Restaurant in Greeneville will open the first week of October and has picked up several employees from Fatz Cafe, which closed back in August.
The new location is on 2620 East Andrew Johnson Highway. Southern Craft bought the former Stan’s BBQ Building back in March 2021. Construction on the Greeneville site seems to have picked up in the recent months, but work was paused for some time. Radio Greeneville News spoke with the General Manager Hallie Broadstone, who wasn’t able to confirm why the work was paused for so long but did say they were able to pick up employees from the Fatz Cafe, which recently closed on August 25th. The sudden closure left many without a job, so Southern Craft was happy to provide employment to many of the servers after the closure.
The General Manager says they’re excited to be opening in Greeneville. An exact date can’t be released just yet but they will keep us posted on their Grand Opening. The new location will have an outdoor patio and they’re staying consistent with their same traditional menu, with possibly a more unique approach to the brunch menu. The restaurant is finalizing the finishing touches and will have their final inspection this Thursday.
Southern Craft serves a variety of meals on their menu and have other locations in Johnson City, Bristol, and Watauga Lake, which is currently closed due to a fire that destroyed the building in June of 2023. The restaurant is still looking to hire more employees, call 232-8845 if interested.
