According to the National Weather Service, in Southeast Greene County a Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 PM this afternoon. Southeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected across the higher elevations and foothills.
A High Wind Warning begins at 5 PM this afternoon and is until 2 PM on Tuesday. Southeast winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 80 mph are possible across the higher elevations and foothills.
Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows.
Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
In Greene County strong winds will be possible on Tuesday ahead of and along the line of showers and embedded thunderstorms.
