The South Greene Volunteer Fire Department is holding its annual door-to-door fundraising drive starting this evening and continuing each night through the week.
The fundraiser is a primary source of revenue for the department, according to chief David Weems. Firefighters will have identification and brochures with information about the department. Donations can also be dropped off at the station at 7650 Asheville Highway or mailed care of Teddy Reaves, 680 River Road, Greeneville 37743.
The South Greene Volunteer Fire Department is celebrating 52 years of service to the community, and is always looking for individuals willing to serve. Anyone interested can contact a department member or stop by the station for an application.
