The South Greene High School yearbook staff earned multiple honors at the Tennessee High School Press Association (THSPA) awards ceremony that was held at Lipscomb University in Nashville on March 2nd.
The school’s 2025 yearbook, The South Side: Ignite, received an All-Tennessee Yearbook designation which is the highest publication rating awarded by the THSPA. This designation recognizes publications that demonstrate outstanding achievement in all areas of production, including writing, photography, design, and visual storytelling.
The yearbook also placed third in the state for Best Yearbook Overall, one of the top honors awarded by THSPA. The category evaluates the entire publication, including theme development, writing, photography, design, and overall coverage of the school year.
In addition, several students also earned individual awards for their work. Brynna Wilhoit received first place in Best Organization/Clubs Copy for the story “Bright Ideas, Big Impact,” and she placed second place in Academic Photography for “Lumos!” Eli Hardin placed second in Best Academic Photo for the picture “Controlled Fire.” Chloe Saulsbury earned third place in Best Sports Design for “No Looking Back,” while Remi Holter took third place in Sports Photography for “Eye to Eye.”
The South Greene High School yearbook is produced by students in the school’s yearbook program, who are responsible for photographing events, conducting interviews, writing stories and captions, designing layouts, and meeting publication deadlines throughout the year. The program is advised by Erin Cloar Jones.
