Two new chain restaurants, a Smoothie King and a Wingstop, are set to open in Greeneville this year.
Work on a Smoothie King, a nationwide chain smoothie shop that offers fruit and vegetable smoothies, is underway at 2055 East Andrew Johnson Highway. A Town of Greeneville Building Office official said Tuesday that framing and rough in of wall and plumbing had been completed and inspected at the site on Jan. 20.
Barring unexpected delays, the Smoothie King is expected to open in the next couple months.
A Wingstop restaurant, a nationwide fast food chain that serves primarily chicken wings, is also coming to Greeneville.
The restaurant is to be located in a building at 2590 East Andrew Johnson Highway, which will soon have an addition constructed on its eastern end to house the restaurant. The site plan for the over 2,000 square-foot addition was approved by the Greeneville Municipal Planning Commission in 2025.
According to the Town of Greeneville Building Office the developer would like to have the addition constructed by the middle of summer with an early fall date being targeted for the opening of the Wingstop.
