The Greenville Municipal Planning Commission gave final approval for a site plan of a Quick stop Market Marathon Gas Station.
The new market will be on 1806 West Main Street across from the current Gas Station and next to the new Biggies Deli. The commission approved the rezoning of the property back in January 2023 and held a public hearing for the rezoning before it was approved. The rezoning was approved with a safety concern in mind in regards to traffic flow.
Planning Director Randy Davenport says the developers from a landscape standpoint meet requirements. Developers will add level two buffering with two rows of evergreen trees between residential structures and the business. They will also add in low growing shrubs and mulch beds, to be placed in front of the business and additional trees for separation. He says it will become an attractive site and shouldn’t have an impact on the neighborhood but most of all will create a safer exit and entrance.
