The National Weather Service provides tips on tools to receive weather forecasts and alerts as the topic for the sixth day of Severe Weather Awareness Week.
The NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is a nationwide network of radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information directly from the nearest National Weather Service office. NWR broadcasts official Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Most radios are sold online at big retailers such as Lowes, Walmart, Amazon, etc
The frequency to program for Washington, Hawkins, and GREENE Counties is : 162.550
The frequency for Cocke and Hamblen Counties is: 162.475
Both programs are recommended for our Greene County Residents so that you can get a heads up as storms move towards us entering surrounding counties.
