Multiple calls were placed to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department yesterday regarding a vehicle traveling down the Asheville Highway firing a weapon out the window.
According to the report, sheriff’s stated this has been an issue since last week. Multiple deputies responded about 9 PM last night to search the area. At that same time another call came in stating shots were fired at a residence on the Asheville Highway. The complainant spoke with deputies and explained he heard the gunshots and a few moments later heard more outside the residence, with the last one striking the home. The complainant immediately ran through the house alerting everyone to get down on the ground.
A bullet hole was found on the exterior of the home that led to a cabinet above the oven kitchen. No suspects were known at the time of the report.
