In addition to approval on first reading of the new fiscal year budget, several other agenda items were addressed by the Greeneville City Council Tuesday.
CURRENT YEAR BUDGET
Approval was granted on first reading amending the fiscal year 2025 budget.
GREENEVILLE CAREER AND TECHNICAL ACADEMY
The board approved the bid for a $1 million dollar Capital Outlay Note for purchase of the Greeneville Career and Technical Academy.
POCKET PARK CONSTRUCTION
A bid for construction at the Eagle’s Rest Pocket Park on South Main Street was approved. The $175,000 contract calls for site preparation and pathway construction, installation of a concrete pedestrian pathway from Main Street to the Crowfoot Alley parking lot, utility installation, landscaping and other property improvements.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
The purchase of seven body cameras for the Greeneville Police Department paid through litigation fees. The Motorola Solutions equipment cost is $29,500.
Malone’s Wrecker Service was awarded the bid for towing for the Greeneville Police Department.
CLEANING SERVICES
Professional Cleaning Solutions was awarded the contract for cleaning services at Town Hall and the Greeneville Police Department at a cost of $2600 per month.
GRANT APPROVALS
Resolutions were approved for the Governor’s Response & Recovery Fund grant and a Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging-Provider Innovation grant.
BOARD REAPPOINTMENTS
Justin Jeffers has been reappointed to a five year term on the Greeneville Energy Authority Board, Dr. Mia Hyde was reappointed to a three year term on the Greeneville/Greene County Library Board. Doug DeBusk will serve another two-year term on the Greeneville Parking Authority and Joe Gonzalez has been approved for another three year term on the Civil Service Board

A special event sign request for a Gifts for Kids fundraiser to be held at 3 p.m. July 11 at the Towne Square Shopping Center.
