The Greene County Sheriff’s Office located around 850 grams of Methamphetamine and 54 grams of Marijuana with assistance from the K9 unit on Monday.
Deputies initially found two ounces of suspected Meth in a vehicle during a traffic stop. The vehicle was registered to a woman with an address on Vicky Street. After speaking with a witness, deputies learned there were people allegedly running back and forth from the home on Vicky Street through the woods to another property. After getting consent from one of the property owners to search the wooded area, a K9 was utilized.
The search lead deputies to find a small bag under a rock that contained 29 grams of a substance believed to be Meth. About 20 yards deeper into the woods the K9 alerted on a larger handbag between a large rock and fallen tree limbs. The bag contained a small dresser drawer with various household items and drug paraphernalia items including scales/weights.
Also found in the bag was around 54 grams of a substance consistent with Marijuana and an additional 820 grams of a substance believed to be Meth. No arrests were made at that time, according to the report.
