A man was arrested for driving under the influence Thursday afternoon after it was reported there was a male in a parking lot, who seemed confused.
Officers responded to 1622 Industrial Road and made contact with the man, Ronnie Roberts of Rogersville. Roberts had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath and a mason jar with liquor was seen in the front passenger seat. Another bottle was also found inside the vehicle.
Roberts was allegedly unsteady on his feet and admitted to drinking. Sobriety tests were requested. Officers stated since Roberts was elderly and intoxicated that he was unable to complete the tests. He was arrested and charged with DUI and his vehicle was towed, according to the report.
