Radio Greeneville News Director Bobby Rader has been named a 2026 Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame inductee by the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters.
Bobby was notified of the honor last Tuesday morning, and by the time he arrived to cover the Greeneville City Council meeting later that afternoon, Mayor Cal Doty had already found out and announced to those gathered of the recognition.
His second stint as News Director at Radio Greeneville began in October of 2024. He previously served in that position with Radio Greeneville from 1993 until 2008. During those years, he also hosted the popular Friday night high school scoreboard during football seasons and was asked to host the high school football scoreboard on the Vol Network. During his 35 plus years with the Vol Network, he has also served as scoreboard and studio host.
He is also an award-winning sports announcer, twice having been recognized by the Associated Press as Tennessee Play-By-Play voice of the year. In addition to local sports coverage, he was also play-by-play voice for Carson Newman College (University) football and basketball for six seasons.
The Hall of Fame Induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, July 25 at Battle Ground Academy in Franklin, Tennessee.
Bobby and his wife Pam live in Greeneville, as do two of their adult daughters Faith and Courtney, while Bethany lives in Knoxville.
