CROSS COUNTRY
The Greeneville cross country teams showcased their skills in the Jessee Owens Classic in Oakdale, Alabama, which had over 200 teams broken into 5 divisions. The boys finished an impressive 11th out of 43 teams and the girls placing 37th out of 44 teams in the Silver Division.
Leading the boys, Trey Bailey secured first place overall with an exceptional time of 15:47.9. He was closely followed by Isaac Gibson, who finished 19th with a time of 16:50.8. Grant Tunnell rounded out the boys’ effort, crossing the finish line in 74th place at 17:47.46. 323 runners competed in the silver division.
On the girls’ side, Tristen Douthat led the team, finishing 146th with a time of 22:52.19. Darla Kammerdiener followed in 170th place at 23:24.69, while Annika Vines rounded out the team’s efforts in 177th place with a time of 23:30.51. Competing against 318 runners in the silver division in the girls bracket.
The Greene Devils will travel to Daniel Boone next Saturday to compete in the Trailblazer Classic.
