One of two hammers found at the murder scene of 59-year-old Sherry Cole and 7-year-old Jessie Allen tested positive for blood of the youngest victim.
That was part of the testimony from one of three TBI agents who took the witness stand Tuesday on Day two in the Greene County double murder trial of Jordan Michael Allen
As TBI searched the scene following the April 24, 2022 deaths, a hammer and screwdriver were found in the bedroom where Jordan Allen apparently slept. The hammer was found underneath bedding. The TBI Agent Tuesday said the hammer contained blood evidence. She later clarified testing for blood evidence was not done in the field, but instead at the lab.
TBI Forensic expert Kim Lowe later in the afternoon said blood found on the head of the hammer was that of the youngest victim, seven-year-old Jessie Allen.
The handle contained DNA of three different persons. Two hammers, one inside and the other outside were found by investigators. Lowe would later testify she personally never tested the other hammer or a screwdriver. The screwdriver was found underneath the Ford Bronco near where the bodies were discovered.
The first agent who began her testimony Monday continued Tuesday morning to enter into evidence videos and pictures from both inside and outside the Old Snapps Ferry Road residence, where Allen faces charges in the death of his grandmother and brother.
Court recessed at 3:00 pm Tuesday due to a personal matter, but Day 3 is expected to a busy one in the courtroom.
The defense will cross examine Agent Lowe when court resumes at 9 am Wednesday.
