A mailbox used to receive payments at the Greeneville Housing Authority was damaged during an attempt to pry it open.
Greeneville police were told Sunday afternoon that the wall-mounted mailbox was used to drop off rent payments. The mailbox appeared to have been pried open, and it was not known if anything was taken.
A damage estimate was not known at the time of the report by the Greeneville Police Department.
