Greeneville Energy Authority crews have been battling the wind for much of the afternoon, with sustained winds over 40 miles per hour and gusts over 80 miles per hour damaging lines. In the early afternoon, over 4,000 customers lost power, but GEA restored service to more than half of those customers relatively quickly.
But as winds have continued to gust, more limbs have fallen and poles and lines have been knocked down.
