The Greene County Grand Jury indicted more than 40 individuals earlier this week. Charges spanned from financial exploitation to evading arrest, domestic assault, driving under the influence, and reckless endangerment.
Jason Gibson of South Wesleys Chapel Road was charged with home-improvement services fraud after reportedly failing to refund $8,500 to a customer that was under contract. The fraud reportedly happened in March 2023 after Gibson allegedly failed to perform a substantial portion of work that was required by the customer.
Joseph R. Morgan Junior of Blountville was charged with two counts of contributing to the dependency of a child, ages two and eight years old on July 18, 2022. Morgan reportedly was in possession of Methamphetamine for more than 1/2 a gram. He was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver Methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia for possessing a pipe with the intent to ingest.
Nicolas Mitchell Medcalf of Pyburn Lane was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and falsification of a drug test after reportedly intentionally possessing a device or substance designed to falsify the results of a drug test. He also reportedly possessed syringes with the intent to use and introduce a substance into the human body.
Bradley C. Wilcox of Kingsport was indicted on charges including evading arrest, resisting arrest, and public intoxication. On March 20, 2024 Wilcox reportedly fled from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and resisted arrest by preventing officers from stop, frisk, search, and arrest. Wilcox was also reportedly in possession of less than a half ounce of Marijuana and was charged with civil possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Travis Lee Matthews of Goshen Valley Road in Church Hill was given seven charges including felony evading, driving on a revoked license, and speeding after an incident on April 10, 2023. Matthews reportedly evaded arrest from the police department while he was operating a vehicle, after receiving a signal to stop.
He reportedly created a risk of injury to bystanders, pursuing law-enforcement, and third parties, all while driving on a revoked license. Matthews was reportedly speeding and driving 81 mph and a 45 mph speed zone. His vehicle also did not have registration.
