Although the number who turned out to assist in the Nolichucky River cleanup was less than three dozen Saturday, the amount of debris collected was in the thousands of pounds.
Keep Greene Beautiful and Keep The Tennessee River Beautiful report 32 volunteers removed 3,802 lbs. of trash, including 37 bags of litter, 28 tires (two of which were large tractor tires), 890 lbs. of scrap metal, 205 lbs. of random plastic, and much more!

– Thanks to the Webb Family for giving us access to their farm to easily transport trash from Lost Island to the mainland for disposal!
– Thanks to Wahoo’s Adventures, the NORA, and Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad for bringing rafts to transport trash collected.
– Thank you to State Rep. David Hawk, Greene County Mayor Kevin Morrison, Town of Greenville Mayor Cal Doty, and Tusculum Mayor Alan Corley for joining the event!
– Thanks to Tusculum Mayor Alan Corley for brining his tractor to easily haul heavy items to the dumpster.
– Thanks to David Crockett Birthplace State Park, the Greene County Partnership, Nolichucky Restoration Project, and many others for helping us plan the event and make it such a big success!
