One person was injured in an accident involving a dump truck this morning on Asheville Highway.
The wreck occurred around 6:00 AM near Gaby Circle. A Hyundai Sonata driven by 32-year-old Keana Stevenson was traveling southbound while a dump truck driven by 33-year-old Cody Ricker was traveling northbound.
Stevenson’s car reportedly crossed over into the dump truck’s lane of travel. Ricker attempted to avoid the collision by swerving, but Stevenson struck the truck head-on. The dump truck then continued off the left side of the roadway and down an embankment. Stevenson’s car spun around and came to a final rest facing northbound in the northbound lane.
Stevenson was injured in the wreck. Ricker was not injured. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, charges are pending in the accident.
