Greene County Mayor Kevin C. Morrison, and Town of Greeneville Mayor C. Cal Doty, have issued a joint proclamation declaring November 2024 as a Month of Giving Thanks.
Although we just experienced the most horrific natural disaster of our generation, amid the suffering and loss, we all bore witness to the miraculous, remarkable courage and generosity of the people of Greene County, as they came to the aid of those in need.
The proclamation reads in part: “Our community church congregations, our first responders, our critical workers, our utility crews, our neighbors, and our business, industry, civic groups, athletic groups and media partners, along with countless others, have served and sacrificed for their fellow Greene Countians.”
Although it will take many months even years, for recovery, it is appropriate and important to stop and give thanks each day during November.
