Bentley Partin served as the Honorary Chairman along side Mayor Kevin Morrison during the Greene County Commission meeting Monday evening.
Partin, a Sophomore at Chuckey Doak, gaveled the meeting into session, then assisted the mayor in presenting resolutions for vote.

ROARING FORK ROAD REZONING
Greene County Commissioners denied a rezoning request at 290 Roaring Fork Road. Local businessman Ben McInturff was hoping to purchase the property if it were rezoned from (A-1) Agricultural to (B-2) Business. He and Mike McNeese, representing both the seller and intender buyer of the property, spoke in favor of the rezoning. Nearby property owners Janice Paysinger, Charlie Sullivan and Dalton McLain however spoke against the rezoning. The Greene County Planning Commission had recommended the property not be rezoned and after some back and forth between commissioners during the discussion phase of the resolution, the rezoning request was denied by a vote of 12 to 8.
