The new Greene County Health Department officially opened for business in the Greene Valley Business Park today.
Located behind the former Greene Valley property on a 330+ acre site on Eden’s Road, the $6 million dollar facility replaces the current building located near the West Andrew Johnson Highway/Church Street intersection in Greeneville.
The new, one-level, building will make the health department more efficient and convenient for services.
The state provided $5 million in grant funding and Greene County provided a $1 million funding match.
An official opening and ribbon cutting will be held in August.
The new Director of the Greene County Health Department Beth Denney will address the County Commission during their meeting tonight.

Eternal Water will be bottling water soon at their new 23.5 acre site located behind the Health Department.
