Development of the now undeveloped property between Edens Road and Highway 107 behind the former Greene Valley site for construction of the new Greene County Health Department has taken another step toward reality.
The Greene County Commission last night approved a Memorandum of Understanding for one million dollars in ARP grant funds earmarked for the project while the state has already earmarked another five million dollars.
The facility is a planned 12,000 to 14,000 square foot health department building, with capacity to provide drive-through testing and/or immunizations. It will also include clinical and office space to meet the needs of projected population growth for Greene County.
Budget and Finance Director Danny Lowery told Commission members last night this is just another step toward eventually putting the project out for bids in the near future.
