In recognition of the vital importance of public health in creating thriving communities, Greene County Mayor, Kevin C. Morrison, has joined other leaders in officially proclaiming the week of April 7-13, 2025, as National Public Health Week (NPHW). This year marks the 30th anniversary of NPHW, organized by the American Public Health Association (APHA) under the theme “It Starts Here,” highlighting the collective responsibility to build healthier and more equitable communities.
During this week, Greene County will join organizations, leaders, and individuals nationwide to raise awareness about public health priorities, including health equity, climate resilience, workforce development, and policy advocacy. Public health impacts every aspect of our lives-from the air we breathe to the care we receive-and this week offers an opportunity to reflect on how we can all contribute to a healthier future.

Morrison. “National Public Health Week reminds us of the power we have, as individuals and as a community, to champion public health initiatives and make a lasting impact on the well-being of our neighbors.”
