After a great run this spring, many athletes from three local high schools were named to All-State teams across three sports.
Beginning with the baseball Class 3A State Champion Greeneville Greene Devils, three players were named to the Class 3A Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State team including outfielder/pitcher senior Parker Shipley, infielder/pitcher junior Colton Richards, and infielder/pitcher sophomore Carson Quillen. Shipley and Quillen were also named to the TBCA 3A All-State team as well for their play this season.
Also in baseball, representing Class 2A, Chuckey-Doak’s Cadin Tullock and representing Class 1A, North Greene’s Colton Robbins were also named All-State for their outstanding play this season on the diamond.
In softball, representing the North Greene Lady Huskies, both senior Cambell Gaby and Anna Weems were named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class A All-State team for helping guide the Lady Huskies back to the state tournament.
In soccer, Chuckey-Doak’s Rio Little was named to the TSWA Class A All-State soccer team for his play this season for the Black Knights. The Greene Devils would add three players to the Class AA All-State team including Drew Hillyer, Austin Beets, and Drew Shelton. The trio helped guide the Greene Devils to a runner-up finish in the Class AA Soccer State Tournament.
