A motorcyclist was flown by Highlands Air Rescue to an area hospital for treatment following a two vehicle accident just after 12:30 Wednesday afternoon on the Newport Highway near Bowers Road.
22 year old Jacob Jarnigan sustained what a THP report listed as serious bodily injuries when his 2015 Harley-Davidson Street Glide collided with a 2022 Ford box truck operated by 45 year old Anthony Santos.
According to the report, the truck turned in front of the motorcycle with Jarnigan, who was wearing a helmet, being thrown from the bike.
A condition update on Jarnigan is not available. Santos was not injured.
