A resident reported her 2002 Honda Civic stolen Friday afternoon, valued, according to the police report, at $1001.
According to the report, the victim stated her car was being worked on, when she was called to say the car had to be moved from the driveway where it was located.
The victim went to where the vehicle had been moved on Wednesday, May 7, the report stated, and retrieved the key, the license plate, and locked the car. She returned on a later date and could not locate the vehicle.
Police reviewed video footage from the business where the car had been parked, and around 3:15 Thursday, reportedly observed a male pushing the car and then pulling it off with a white truck.
Police followed up by speaking with Rey Lezcano of Carson Street. When Lezcano was asked by officers what had happened to the car, he reportedly told police he had used a wire to unlock it, taken it, and then had it scrapped for $150.
Lezcano has a court date set for Monday for Motor Vehicle Theft.
