The Mosheim Police Department is proud to announce that K9 Ares is now equipped with a state-of-the-art ballistic vest, thanks to the generosity of community donors and the support of nonprofit organization 30×30 Fundraising.
On March 23, 2025, the Mosheim Police Department, alongside K9 Officer Josh Laws, partnered with 30×30 Fundraising to launch a campaign to raise $3,610—the cost of a ballistic vest tailored for K9 Ares. The response was overwhelming. Supporters not only met the fundraising goal but exceeded it, raising 125% of the original target.
With the funds, K9 Ares received a K9 Storm Ballistic Vest, ensuring he is protected while performing high-risk duties. Additional equipment was also purchased to enhance the capabilities and safety of both Ares and his handler during daily operations. These items include:

Thanks to the campaign’s success, the department was also able to pay it forward. The remaining funds were donated to the Olive Branch Police Department in Mississippi, which recently lost a K9 partner unexpectedly. These funds will assist Olive Branch in equipping their next K9 unit.
Since 2015, 30×30 Fundraising has worked with law enforcement agencies across the country to provide ballistic vests and gear for working K9s. The Mosheim Police Department and Officer Josh Laws extend heartfelt thanks to every donor who contributed to protecting K9 Ares and supporting the broader K9 law enforcement community.
