Volunteers with the Mosheim, Midway, and United Volunteer Fire Departments have been called to a woods fire near 1355 Pilot Mountain Road. The fire, off Gap Creek Road, was reported just after 3 PM when a burning brush pile has reportedly started burning into a wooded area.
Around 3:30 PM, firemen requested assistance from the Tennessee Division of Forestry to help fight the fire as it began advancing up a mountainside.
