A mobile home on the Horton Highway was destroyed by fire Saturday morning.
Volunteers from the United Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene in the 15000 Block of the Horton Highway just after 4:30 AM. The singlewide trailer was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The occupant and her pets were able to escape unharmed.
Volunteers from Newmansville, Fall Branch, and the Debusk Rehab Unit also responded, as did EMS and the Greene County Sheriff’s Department. A total of 25 firemen responded to the scene, and 8,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the flames. Volunteers left the scene around 8:30.
