Nearly all individuals who were exposed to carbon monoxide at Milligan University have been discharged from care, according to Ballad Health.
The Steve Lacy Fieldhouse, where the exposure occurred on Wednesday, has been reopened following a final precautionary inspection. Milligan will bring in a third-party contractor to conduct a thorough investigation and assessment across the campus.
Out of an abundance of caution, Milligan is withholding all student-athletes impacted from competition until they have cleared the return-to-activity protocol. This decision will impact the schedule of some athletic events.
Ballad Health will continue to provide medical support for impacted individuals through Appalachian Highlands Sports Medicine.
