For those visiting the area this week for the Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies Classic, you should notice or your host family should tell you about and show you the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery near Hal Henard gym where the games are being played.
As locals already know, an effort is underway to increase the gravesite, which is at capacity for burials.
A motion was approved by unanimous vote of the the Greene County Commission earlier this month to persuade action at the federal level to make that happen.
Mayor Kevin Morrison hopes to have a group in place soon to carry that request to the next level.
