GREENEVILLE, S.C. — The Marwin Kline Invite proved to be a stage for remarkable achievements as South Greene High School’s track and field athletes showcased their prowess, setting new benchmarks and personal records under the radiant South Carolina sun.

In an event featuring 17 competitive teams, South Greene’s girls team claimed an impressive 5th place finish, while the boys secured the 11th spot. The day was marked by a flurry of outstanding performances, epitomizing the team’s dedication and talent.

Leading the charge was Natalie Foshie, whose dominance in the discus earned her a well-deserved 1st place finish and a new school record. Not to be outdone, Nolan Weems soared to victory in the pole vault, achieving a new personal best.

Natalie Freise left her mark on the track with a formidable performance in the 400 hurdles, securing 3rd place and setting a new school record. Alexa Gabbard displayed her versatility, clinching 3rd place in both the triple jump and high jump, while also achieving a new personal record in the triple jump.

The girls’ discus event saw Kaylee Cutshaw and Madison Darnell shine, claiming 4th and 5th places respectively. The relay teams showcased their teamwork and speed, with the 4 x 100 team of Gabbard, Foshie, Samantha Birdwell, and Abby Hoxie securing the 8th spot. Meanwhile, the 4 x 400 team, composed of Gabbard, Freise, Birdwell, and Foshie, clinched 6th place and set a new personal record.

Natalie Freise continued to impress, finishing 8th in the 100 hurdles. On the boys’ side, the relay teams exhibited their strength, with the 4 x 400 team of Zackriah Duncan, Noah Case, Evan Stills, and Keshawn Engram seizing 7th place and achieving a new personal record. Similarly, the 4 x 800 team, comprised of Duncan, Case, Stills, and Evan Ryan, secured 6th place, also setting a new personal record.

Madison Darnell showcased her prowess in the shot put, claiming 7th place and achieving a new personal record, while also securing the 8th spot in the javelin. Foshie’s versatility was on display once again as she clinched 6th place in the javelin, setting a new school record. Tripp Neas added to the record-breaking spree, securing 7th place in the javelin and setting a new school record, with Ben Ballest rounding off the javelin events with an 8th place finish.

 

GREENEVILLE AT HARDIN VALLEY INVITATIONAL

Knoxville, Tn – The Hardin Valley Invitational hosted competitors from 49 schools from Huber Heights, Oh to Roanoke, Va.  Two days of competition that saw the Greeneville boys place 20th out of 32 teams and the Greeneville girls finished 28th out of 30 teams.

Greeneville’s top performer was the 4×100 boys team finishing 3rd at 43.04.  Zayden Anderson was 3rd in long jump and 5th in boys 100 at 11.07, and Jacob Moore was 5th on Pole Vault at 12′.
