Mark Chesnutt got his start in the honky-tonks of Beaumont, Texas, learning from his father, Bob Chesnutt, a singer and avid collector of classic country music. After nearly a decade of regional recordings, he signed with MCA Nashville in 1989. His debut single, “Too Cold At Home,” quickly established him as an authentic and talented vocalist, earning him the CMA Horizon Award. Country legend George Jones, his greatest mentor, introduced him as “A boy from Beaumont, Texas who is the real deal.”
